Daniel Day Lewis stars in this merciless examination of power lust and greed in the forming days of the oil industry from Writer-Director Paul Thomas Anderson. Based loosely on a novel by Uptain Sinclair, P.T. Anderson reaches new heights as a filmmaker in this gorgeous and relentless epic shot almost entirely in Marfa. The film received numerous Oscar nominations, with wins for Daniel Day Lewis and cinematographer Robert Elswitt.
We’re please to announce this once-in-a-lifetime screening will happen on the set of THERE WILL BE BLOOD (see below) just south of Marfa on the MacGuire Ranch. Though some small parts of the set will remain after the event, the town will soon be torn down, as the West Texas winds are already taking their toll on the scenic construction.

The following special screenings will be on the Marfa Golf Course ("the highest golf course in Texas" with a breathtaking view of the Marfa Plateau)
Friday Night, May 2nd

Charles Laughton directs Robert Mitchum and Lillian Gish in one of the great classics of American cinema. With a powerful mixture of German expressionism and American gothic that sets it apart from almost all other Hollywood films of the 1940s and 1950s, "Night of the Hunter" creates and sustains a tone of dreadful suspense that never lets up.

Sunday Night, May 4th

Deborah Kerr moves into a magnificent manor in the English countryside to care for the master’s two children only to find something dark and sinister waiting for her there. One of Hollywood’s first mainstream ventures into horror and a rarely seen classic of the genre. Gorgeous black and white cinematography and terrific performances from the children make for a genuinely creepy experience. Co-written by Truman Capote.
